To give your guests the best service, you need to know the details. Knowing the nitty-gritty of the hotel slippers you provide will improve the quality of the service. For this, you need to be thorough with your research! Knowing the different materials and their functionalities can go a long way. So here is all the fundamental information you need!

Materials for hotel slippers

First of all, it is important to know the variety. The hotel slippers you provide must feel good on the skin. But they must also serve a very specific purpose. Just comfort or aesthetic value won’t do the trick. For this, there are several options that you could explore. The materials that hotel slippers are made of can be varied. But all of them have a set of pros and cons. Here are some of the commonest ones.

Cloth Or Terry Cloth

Terry cloth hotel slippers refer to cloth fabrics. Most commonly, hotel slippers are made out of towel cloth. If you’re familiar with that kind of fabric, you will know what the features more or less are. These are lightweight and breathable. Towel cloth is also great for use in damp environments. In very high-end hotels, velvet slippers are in vogue too. They can feel incredibly wonderful on the skin. They not only add to the novelty of the amenity but also the convenience. Other than that, the slipper body can be made from materials like cotton. Mesh cloth and coral velvet are popularly preferred too. Cloth hotel slippers are fairly common biases. Everything else aside, they are very easy to customize! Having your hotel’s logo on cloth slippers is easy to achieve. Plus, it raises the aesthetic appeal of the slippers too. This is something you should keep in mind if you opt for cloth slippers in your hotel.

Thermoplastic rubber

Thermoplastic rubber, or TPR material, is another common material for hotel slippers. Fundamentally, it is a blend of rubber and plastic. That means that it combines the properties of both! Hotel slippers made out of TPR are flexible and not too rigid on the feet. These are also very durable. So a pair of hotel slippers made out of thermoplastic rubber will not tear easily. This just makes this a wonderful investment!

Something that is often overlooked is the environmental impact of hotel amenities. Something that is single-use only, or can not be recycled, can impact the environment negatively. In this respect, TPC passes with flying colors. Its durability makes the material generally reusable. But its most environment-friendly feature is recyclability. Even after disposal, hotel slippers manufactured from TPC don’t have toad to non-biodegradable waste. The material can be recycled to minimize waste production. It also brings down production costs and investments. Overall, TPR hotel slippers are a very good option if you are looking for something a little more durable than cloth slippers.

TPR is not the only plastic that is used in the manufacture of hotel slippers. EVA is another one of the same types. It refers to Ethylene-vinyl acetate. The vinyl acetate ranges between 10% and 40% of the contents. EVA material is especially common in making soles of hotel slippers. The feel of this material on the skin is very pleasant. It is almost the same as rubber. N terms of softness and flexibility too, EVA is top-notch.

This material most commonly goes into the soles of hotel slippers. This is because it offers a brilliant grip. EVA specializes in anti-skid properties. So, this becomes a perfect option for use in the bathroom. Oh, and it is also considered to be quite eco-friendly because it doesn’t contain heavy chemicals or toxins.

Polyvinyl chloride

High-end hotels typically use PVC or poly-vinyl chloride in the manufacture of their slippers. This material goes over a layer of leather or EVA. This is certainly a slightly more expensive option. Of course, it’s still not going to burn a hole through your pocket! But, using PVC in your hotel slippers can be a little more cost-intensive than, say, EVA slippers.

However, it does wonders in terms of purpose! It can go a long way in waterproofing the hotel slippers. This means that PVC makes for really tough soles that can resist skid and water. You will mostly see PVC in outsole hotel slippers. A huge reason behind this is that PVD has anti-abrasion properties. This improves the grip and is consistently durable. PVC slippers will be a great way to avoid unwanted accidents. The only problem with using PVC is that the slippers might end up feeling a little too stiff.

Cloth alternatives

Canvas, deerskin, mop flannel~ all of these can be options too. In many cases, cloth can prove to be insufficiently durable. That is why materials like these can also be used. They can emulate the feel of cloth, but actually, improve on the quality. Besides, they make for sturdier soles that can do wonders for the grip.

Pick your type based on the purpose

With so many options available, it is easy to lose track. If you feel a little lost about which want to go for, it’s important to prioritize. For this, you need to consider what kind of surface the slippers need to go on. For example, a certain slipper material might be perfect for hardwood flooring. But the same thing might not be a very good option over damp surfaces. The purpose of the slippers needs to decide their nature. The scenario might require you to keep several kinds of hotel slippers ready. So whatever you do, keep the purpose of the slippers and the convenience of your guests in mind!
